Choir “Balkan Voices"

“Balkan Voices”, conducted by professor of music Sanja Drljaca, was formed over ten years ago. It began as a ladies octet, but over time developed into a mixed choir with 18 members. For the past few years, these Serbian Orthodox men and woman have dedicated their voices to preserving Serbian musical tradition, and making it known to audiences in Australia. The ensemble practices every Thursday night, and favours the compositions of the Stevan Mokranjac, who is better-suited as the ‘Serbian Bach’.
